Professional biography
Dr Cove-Smith studied undergraduate medicine at Sheffield University then moved to Manchester in 2007 to specialise in medical oncology at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. During this time she was awarded a PhD from the University of Manchester (Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute) in the field of circulating and imaging biomarkers and developed an interest in late effects from cancer therapy.
She took up post as a medical oncology consultant specialising in thoracic and acute oncology at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and Wythenshawe Hospital in 2018
Research Interest
Phase III clinical trials focusing on early lung cancer and mesothelioma. Improving outcomes for patients living with and beyond cancer
Educational Interests
Dr Cove-Smith has a keen interest in undergraduate and post graduate medical education and is studying for her post graduate certificate of medical education at Edgehill University.
