We are the largest radiotherapy provider Europe, with one in 20 treatments being delivered at The Christie. We are also one of only 2 cancer centres worldwide to offer both MR-Linac and high-energy proton beam therapy.

We have the largest chemotherapy department in the UK and also provide treatment at 14 other sites and in patients’ homes. We are also a specialist tertiary surgical centre, concentrating on rare cancers multidisciplinary cancer surgery.

We serve a population of 3.2 million people across Greater Manchester and Cheshire, while more than a quarter of our patients are referred to us from across the UK.

We are currently rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and ‘Outstanding’ in the caring, effective, responsive and well-led domains.

We are an international leader in cancer research and development with over 750 clinical studies ongoing at any one time. Our Christie Institute of Cancer Education was the first of its kind in the country to provide undergraduate, clinical, professional and medical education reaching out into general practice and beyond the UK.
