Responsibilities

Dr Arthur provides a clinical oncology (radiotherapy) service to colorectal patients referred from Wigan, Salford and Tameside and participates in weekly meetings with her colorectal colleagues at these hospitals. In addition, she cares for thyroid cancer patients from Manchester and Lancashire, providing a weekly outpatient clinic and provision of inpatient radioiodine treatment.

She participates in regular multi-disciplinary meetings with Manchester and Lancashire thyroid colleagues. Dr Arthur is involved in thyroid and colorectal clinical trials, alongside her work with colleagues developing stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) for liver metastases and the development of an MR Linac at The Christie. 

Dr Arthur is the acute oncology lead clinician at Salford Royal. She delivers an acute oncology service, alongside her nurse specialist and Consultant oncology colleagues, which includes a Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP) MDT. She is also a member of the Metastatic Spinal Cord Compression (MSCC) group.

Professional biography

Dr Arthur graduated from the University of Dundee in 2004, worked in Glasgow and Edinburgh until 2011 and subsequently completed her clinical oncology training in Manchester in 2013. She was appointed as a Consultant in January 2014.

Alongside her clinical commitments, she has a keen interest in medical education. She is co-organiser of a national FRCR Part 2B course and is involved in medical undergraduate teaching with The Christie School of Oncology.
