Coping with mental health after a cancer diagnosis

Receiving a cancer diagnosis and having treatment is a difficult thing for anyone to go through, especially for young people and their families.

Within the Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) service at The Christie, we have a number of highly-skilled professionals who will help and support you through this difficult time.

Sometimes you may need some additional help from the psycho-oncology team to deal with issues with your mental health. The psycho-oncology team at The Christie provides a wide range of emotional and psychological support services.

These therapies and techniques can be used to help deal with anxiety, depression and other psychological conditions. Before any referral into the psycho-oncology service, you’ll need to discuss this with your key worker.
