Complementary therapy service

The complementary therapy (or CALMS) service assists patients experiencing treatment-related anxiety and phobias, such as claustrophobia for scans and immobilisation masks, or needle-phobia for bloods and cannulation.

We offer supportive interventions including clinical hypnotherapy, aromatherapy and stress management techniques to help patients develop effective coping skills.

Some therapies help with relaxation and providing an overall sense of wellbeing. Others may provide relief from symptoms such as anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, breathing difficulties or emotional issues.

We also provide support initiatives such as smoking and alcohol cessation.
