Rongqiao is a family-owned developer with experience mainly in the residential, hotel and education sectors. It now works on a number of social projects intended to improve access to high-quality education and healthcare in the eastern province of Fujian, mainland China.

A contract was signed to support the development of the Fujian Lin Memorial Hospital in Fuzhou, the province’s capital. The project was to offer a full range of patient services and with a focus on rehabilitation, research and education. Through this partnership, The Christie is sharing specialist advice to support the development of a world-class oncology unit within the hospital.

Currently in the first phase of what is planned to be a long-term collaboration, discussions are now underway to establish the model of care and key elements of the design of this unit.

Dr Lip Wai Lee, consultant clinical oncologist, is the clinical lead for the project at The Christie.

Watch Dr Lee talk here about the mutual benefits that such a partnership offers, both in terms of improving the outcomes and experience of patients who access the services in Fuzhou and the resources generated from this project that will be reinvested in patient care here at The Christie.
