Richard Timperley, senior catering manager

Richard Timperley is the winner of The Christie’s You Made a Difference Award for February 2024. The following comments were made about Richard in the February nominations.

The judges picked Richard out as a very deserving winner and said that the comments made about him showed how he represented The Christie values and behaviours.

“Richard joined the Trust from Tameside hospital at the end of May 2023.

“Richard is a diligent hardworking individual who is looking at some of our challenges with a fresh pair of eyes. Richard is a very positive person and can make the best out of every situation, convincing his team that by managing the challenges there will be improved outcomes. I believe that Richard has made a significant impact on the service since he commenced last year and am sure under his leadership, the catering services will go from strength to strength.

“Richard is a family man with 2 teenagers and enjoys family time with them. He is a passionate gardener and ensures that time spent weeding helps his mental wellbeing and his physical health.”
