We are delighted to congratulate Mr Ken Patterson, who has recently been appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Beaumont Hospital in Ireland, where he will be helping to deliver the penile cancer service.

Ken spent a year with us at The Christie as our Urology Fellow, gaining specialist experience in the assessment and management of penile cancer and developing his surgical skills across the breadth of penile cancer surgery, including minimally invasive and robotic inguinal lymph node dissection.

During his fellowship, Ken became a highly-valued member of our multidisciplinary team and made an important contribution to the care of our patients.

One of the aims of our fellowship programme is not only to provide high-quality specialist training, but also to help develop surgeons who can take that expertise back to their own centres and strengthen penile cancer care more widely.

We are therefore particularly pleased to see Ken take up a consultant role in which penile cancer will form an important part of his practice.

Congratulations, Ken, from everyone in the Christie Penile Cancer Service. We wish you every success in your new role at Beaumont.
