On 17 February 2026, consultants Mr Arie Parnham, Mr Jeremy Oates, and Mr Aziz Gulamhusein, together with penile cancer fellow Kenneth Patterson (IRL), visited a former fellow now working in Switzerland to see how his practice has evolved. He had originally come to The Christie NHS Foundation Trust for specialist training in penile cancer, testicular cancer, robotic prostatectomy, and complex urology, where he developed a strong foundation in minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic groin node dissection.
Building on this experience, the former fellow is now one of the few surgeons performing single-port robotic inguinal lymph node dissection and retroperitoneal partial nephrectomy in Europe. The visit was a chance not only to reconnect, but to learn directly from his refined techniques and see how skills developed in Manchester have been taken forward into highly-specialised practice.
