Steven was diagnosed with penile cancer in 2019, aged just 26. After seeing a GP for pain and swelling in his penis, the doctor told him it was probably a bacterial infection and gave him a cream for this.

But after the pain got worse, Steven was rushed to A&E. When he got to hospital, he was diagnosed with penile cancer, even though he’d previously thought he was too young for the condition.

Steven was referred to The Christie penile cancer service for treatment, one of only 9 designated penile cancer centres in England. He needed surgery to have 4 inches of his penis removed. After his treatment, Steven went into remission and is now enjoying life as a single dad.

Since his treatment, Steven’s been speaking out about his diagnosis to raise awareness of penile cancer. You can watch Steven talk about his treatment at The Christie penile cancer service on This Morning and see his interview on the LADbible to hear his experience of diagnosis and treatment.
