Responsibilities

Dr Khera works as Consultant Histopathologist with specialist expertise in gynaecological and lymphoreticular pathology. She provides comprehensive diagnostic services in both subspecialties, including complex cancer diagnostics, integrated histopathological and molecular reporting, and multidisciplinary team participation. She also contributes to the regional Haematological Cancer Diagnostic Partnership (HCDP) service, delivering expert lymphoma diagnostics and supporting high-quality, patient-centred cancer care across the region.

Professional biography

Dr Khera completed her MBBS in 2007 and postgraduate MD in Pathology in 2011. She worked as a Consultant and Lecturer in Pathology for several years in India before moving to the UK in 2019 as a Consultant Histopathologist. Since then, she has worked across a number of NHS trusts, including Liverpool University NHS Foundation trust and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, gaining extensive experience in diagnostic histopathology with specialist expertise in gynaecological and lymphoreticular pathology.

She served as Co-Lead for Gynaecological Pathology at Liverpool Trust, where she worked for 5 years, contributing to service development and multidisciplinary cancer diagnostics. Dr Khera joined The Christie in 2026 and has a particular interest in integrated cancer diagnostics, high-quality pathology reporting, and delivering patient-centred care through close multidisciplinary collaboration.
