  • Look good, feel better

We offer the Look Good, Feel Better and Colour Me Beautiful services to promote self-esteem. These services aim to help you cope with the impact of changes to your body image, such as hair loss due to treatment.

The services are provided by volunteers and are managed by the Maggie’s Manchester staff.

The Look Good Feel Better service is currently offering virtual workshops for patients struggling with the visual effects of cancer. These are available on the Look Good Feel Better website.

We are also offering a discount and free shipping on hats bought through Masumi Headwear. For the current discount code, please contact the cancer information centre by phone or email.

About the Look Good, Feel Better service

We offer two services called Look good, Feel Better and Colour Me Beautiful to promote self-esteem and to help you cope with the impact of changes to your body image, such as hair loss due to treatment. The services are provided by volunteers and are managed by the Maggie’s Manchester staff.

What we do

Look Good Feel Better is a 2 hour workshop run once a week. Booking is essential via the cancer information centre.

The therapeutic and psychological benefits of women wearing make-up have been well documented. In the face of adversity, the desire to look good still remains. Nowhere is this more apt than for women coping with the visible side-effects of cancer treatments.

The LGFB workshops are free. Women attending workshops are taken through a 12-step skincare and make-up regime and, as an added bonus, everyone who attends is given a substantial gift bag of products, donated by different cosmetic companies, to use and take home at the end of the session.

Attending a LGFB workshop provides a real source of support, bringing together small groups of 10-12 women in a relaxing and enjoyable environment. With the help and encouragement of LGFB beauty consultants, the two-hour sessions are enjoyable, morale boosting and informative. Women leave the sessions laughing, looking fantastic and ready to face the world again.
