Susan Corr domestic assistant

Susan Corr is the winner of The Christie’s You Made a Difference Award for June 2025.

The following comments were made about Susan in the June nominations. Judges picked her out as a very deserving winner and said that the comments made about her showed how she represents The Christie values and behaviours.

“Susan works full-time as a domestic assistant. She currently works on ward 10, and also works bank shift on her days off as an admin assistant.

"Susan is  adventurous. Whether she’s riding a motorbike through scenic routes or at concerts by iconic bands like ELO and The Prodigy. Susan lives life with energy.

"We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for her outstanding contribution over the past 9 years as a domestic assistant within the NHS. Her hard work, reliability, and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment have been vital to patient care and staff wellbeing every single day.

"Her role, though often behind the scenes, is the backbone of our healthcare system. Her dedication does not go unnoticed – she helps create the conditions that allow our patients to heal and our teams to work effectively.

Thank you for your professionalism, and the pride you take in your work. The NHS is stronger because of people like you.

Gaynor Herbert-Cronin, Deputy support services manager

“Sue made a difference by helping when a patient’s relative had a funny turn she rang the bell and waited for a doctor to arrive and showed him where to go. She was very calm and helpful with the situation which happened off the ward, so she reacted in a calm and collected way.”
