At The Christie, we’re always listening to patients and carers’ feedback. The Patient and Carer Engagement Forum (PCEF) gives patients, carers and members of the public an opportunity to influence and shape our services.
What is the PCEF?
The PCEF brings together patients, carers, volunteers and staff to discuss issues with our services. Members can provide feedback and contribute ideas for improving patient care and experience across The Christie.
Through the PCEF, we can ensure we hear patient and carer voices when we’re making decisions about service development and patient experience initiatives.
Why get involved?
Your experiences and insights can help us understand what is working well and where we can improve. By becoming a member of the PCEF, you can:
Share your experiences of care and treatment
Help identify opportunities for improvement
Influence service developments and patient experience priorities
Learn about projects and initiatives taking place across the Trust
Meet and collaborate with other patients, carers and staff
Help ensure services are inclusive and accessible for all patient groups
You do not need any previous experience to get involved. We welcome people from all backgrounds and communities and value the different perspectives that patients and carers bring.
Our commitment to inclusion
At the PCEF, we aim to provide a welcoming, inclusive and accessible environment. We share information and discussion topics in advance wherever possible. We aim to represent a diverse range of patient and carer voices within the PCEF, particularly those from communities that may traditionally not be represented.
How often does the PCEF meet?
The PCEF meets every 2 months via Teams or in person. At the meetings, we encourage open discussion and collaboration between patients, carers and staff.
Interested in joining the PCEF?
We are always looking for new the PCEF members who want to improve patient and carer experience at The Christie. If you are a current patient, former patient, carer or family member, your voice can help improve experiences for cancer patients.
