The Christie NHS Foundation Trust has launched its annual colleague awards for 2023 which looks to recognise our members of staff across the organisation who are an inspiration and embody the Trust’s Values and Behaviours.
For the first time, patients and their families and carers will be able to nominate a person or team in the ‘Act with Kindness’ award category. This award is where a team or individual has acted with exceptional kindness towards a patient/carer or family of patient. Nominations should detail the way(s) in which the team or individual has demonstrated exceptional kindness and explain the impact that this had.
Shortlisted colleagues and teams will be invited to a celebratory event and afternoon tea held at The Christie in Withington on Wednesday 18 October and successful nominators will also be invited to attend as guests of honour.
Roger Spencer, Chief Executive at The Christie, said: “I know that all our colleagues consistently go above and beyond in the care and treatment the give to all our patients and this is your chance to really shine a light on an individual or team who has acted with kindness and embodied our Trust Values and Behaviours during your journey with us. I am really looking forward to being part of the Colleague Awards process and hearing all about what our patients have to tell us.”
You can submit as many nominations as you wish for the ‘Act with Kindness’ award but you must complete a separate form for each nomination you want to make.
You can also pick up a paper nomination form at the main hospital site in Withington and our Christie at sites in Oldham, Macclesfield and Salford and post completed nomination forms in the ballot boxes available at main reception areas.
You have until midnight on Friday 15 September 2023 to submit your nominations for the ‘Act with Kindness’ award either on paper or electronically.
