About us

The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Gifts from the public make a huge difference to the care and treatment that The Christie is able to provide to our patients and their families.

While we have achieved a phenomenal amount thanks to the backing of our donors, this doesn’t mean we can be complacent with our achievements. We always have plans in the pipeline to further improve our services. We have big goals and ambitions for the future, and all of these require your support.

We are one of the largest hospital charities in the UK with 81p in every pound raised going directly to the patients.

We have over 53,155 supporters and each of them helped us to raise a total £13.9m last year.

In 2018/19, there have been 1,050 community events, 7,175 sporting event participants and 8,507 donations from corporate fundraisers. We were left 172 legacies and we had support from 60 charitable trusts.

We are also thrilled to have the continued and amazing support from our army of volunteers who we couldn’t manage without. From shifts on the tea bar, volunteering in the office to helping out at our events, we remain hugely grateful for everyone who willingly donates their time to support us.

The Christie charity only exists because of all our fantastic support from all our amazing fundraisers. And whether it is giving your time, treasure and talent, we really do value everything you do. In return, we promise to ensure that all donations are spent as wisely and cost effectively as possible.
