Angela was born and brought up in North Manchester and has been a resident of Withington for over 25 years. She was elected as a Labour Councillor for the Withington ward in May 2022.

Before becoming a councillor, Angela was a secondary school teacher at a North Manchester secondary school, teaching history to 11–18-year-olds for 26 years, until she retired at the beginning of 2019.

She is a member of the City Council’s Children and Young People Scrutiny Committee and the OFSTED Subgroup.

Angela enjoys attending events organised for local children in Withington, including HAF projects and play streets, and is looking forward to the upcoming Save Our City – climate Emergency involving South Manchester school students.
