Throughout the history of The Christie, we have never stood still. We’ve always worked to provide better patient outcomes, deliver innovation and cutting-edge research and help support cancer patients and their families.

And during the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve still been here. We’ve made sure our patients continue to receive the very best cancer care.

We have worked with other local hospitals, taking on additional surgical cases wherever we can. Our charity staff have stepped up to support our frontline staff in the hospital and help patients get to essential appointments.

But there is no escaping the fact that the last 10 months have tested and challenged us in ways like never before.

Please help The Christie keep moving

Today, we urgently need every member of Team Christie to come together and help us keep moving for people with cancer.

We have reached a significant moment in the pandemic. Nearly a year in, with the restrictions of the latest lockdown continuing to affect us and our patients, now more than ever we need the team at The Christie to come together.

If you want to support The Christie charity at this critical time, please donate using the form below.

Why we need your help

COVID-19 has been incredibly difficult for all of us, and the situation has grown more and more urgent. The Christie charity lost 25% of its income due to COVID-19 in 2020.

This is a heavy blow and directly impacts on the financial support The Christie charity can offer the hospital, including funding for research and clinical trials.

Our wonderful community of supporters, including people like you has always been our greatest asset of all. You are having an incredible impact on the hospital and our patients.

Supporters like you make a real difference to the support we can provide to cancer patients and their families. And like Helen Thompson, who together with her 2 children raised more than £5,500 in support of The Christie charity during the COVID-19 pandemic.

With your help, we could invest in more clinical trials to provide more new treatment options for people with cancer.

Thanks to supporters like you, we have more new building projects happening this year, with a brand new cancer centre in Macclesfield set for completion by the end of this year, and progress continuing on the new Paterson research centre building.

It’s imperative we keep these projects running. Donating today could help support the construction of our Macclesfield centre and Paterson research centre, making a real difference to the lives of those affected by cancer.

Other ways you can support

While we must all still stay safe, there are many ways that you can still support us this year.

You can take part in The Christie Challenge and help fundraise in support of cancer patients. The Christie Challenge is to complete 6 different fundraising activities over the year. Whether you want to do a sponsored run, organise a bake sale or host an online quiz night, you can get involved.

Take a look at our Ideas generator for advice to create a great event, either with friends or on your own.

Your support and generosity means our colleagues in the hospital can continue to offer services above and beyond NHS funding. There’s never been a more important time to support our charity.
