Feeling crafty this Christmas? Why not invite your family, friends, or colleagues to take part in a wreath making competition? It’s a great way to get into the upcycling spirit, while also raising much needed funds for The Christie charity.

You can hold a wreath making competition at your home for your family, at a school or in your workplace. If you can’t get everyone in one place or if people in your office are still working from home, you could hold your contest remotely over Zoom or Skype.

A budget-friendly way to get materials for your wreath making competition is by foraging in your garden or another outdoor space. Look for leaves, holly, pinecones, and other festive foliage to decorate your wreaths. Using greenery will help you get a rustic-feel to your wreaths and is also more sustainable if you go plastic-free with your materials.

Ask everyone taking part in the wreath making competition to donate a set amount to The Christie charity. You’ll then all get to spend an afternoon or an evening crafting your Christmas wreaths.

Once all the wreaths are made, get someone independent to choose a winner of the wreath making competition. But remember, there are no losers – everyone gets to take home the beautiful wreath they’ve made!
