Come and join the Northern Doctors’ Orchestra for a special performance at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester on Sunday 7 September 2025, raising money in support of The Christie Charity.

The Northern Doctors’ Orchestra brings together musical healthcare professionals to raise money for important regional causes while giving opportunities for amateur musicians to perform at a high standard.

The evening at the RNCM will take you on a voyage down the mighty Vltava river through Bohemia. In Beethoven’s third piano concerto, professor of medicine and piano virtuoso Julian Davis will lead us from darkness to light via some of the most breathtakingly beautiful music ever written. After the interval, experience the epic grandeur of Antonín Dvořák’s majestic seventh symphony, a piece full of irresistible tunes and passionate drama.

Rohan Shotton (clinical research fellow in medical oncology at The Christie) is the conductor for the Northern Doctors’ Orchestra. He and the orchestra will be performing:

  • Smetana: Vltava from Má Vlast
  • Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 3
  • Dvořák: Symphony No. 7
