For many of us, the New Year can be a symbolic moment, representing new beginnings and a fresh start. And patients at The Christie want to be able to concentrate on the New Year too, spending time with the people who matter most to them and focusing on the things that really matter.

You can give a New Year's gift and donate to fund The Christie’s world-class cancer care and research. Thanks to your support, our patients will have the very best in treatment and services, so they can focus on precious time with their loved ones.

How your gift can help cancer patients

At The Christie, our experts are doing all they can to support our patients at every stage on their cancer journey, but they cannot do it alone – we need your help.

By supporting The Christie Charity, your donation means you’re helping us to provide the very best in care and services for our patients. On top of this, it also means you’ll be making a difference to their lives, and the lives of their families for many years to come.

Donate today and help improve patients’ lives in 2025.

Our researchers want to carry out clinical trials to develop new treatments and improve outcomes for patients. Your donation could help pay for a researcher’s time to analyse results.

Your New Year's gift could also help to fund projects like our art and relaxation rooms, offering patients a sanctuary to engage in creative activities and connect with others who share similar experiences.

During treatment, patients also need ongoing care and monitoring. For example, our 10 local Christie blood clinics mean patients can get routine tests closer to home – and this service is also funded by Christie Charity supporters. Your donation could help fund more vital services that support our patients when they need it most.

How The Christie supports patients

By helping to improve outcomes and recovery times, you can help give our patients a better quality of life. These are patients like Claudia from Salford Quays. After being diagnosed with a rhabdomyosarcoma on her spinal cord, Claudia was referred to The Christie for chemotherapy, surgery and proton beam therapy.

“I had constant support from my specialist clinical nurse at The Christie,” says Claudia. She also greatly appreciated the support of other patients in the Teenage and Young Adults (TYA) unit and members of staff in both the TYA unit and the proton beam therapy unit.

Claudia’s care at The Christie has continued following her treatment, with access to services which have been supported by The Christie Charity, including a physiotherapist, occupational therapist and psychologist.

I have had amazing support from every member of staff at The Christie. Their personalised care helped me throughout treatment and beyond and encouraged me to return to university and build my life back.”

Claudia, Christie patient

Some patients at The Christie are so grateful for their treatment that they want to give something back by fundraising for The Christie Charity. One of these patients is Sebastian, who was told he had bowel cancer in April 2022.

But despite currently undergoing chemotherapy every 2 weeks at The Christie, Sebastian took on the Altrincham 10K run for The Christie Charity in September 2024 with his daughter Olivia. Read Sebastian's story to see why he is so grateful to The Christie.

Your support today means that patients like Claudia and Sebastian can enjoy longer, better lives. Give a New Year's gift today and help us to provide the very best in care and services for our patients in 2025 and the years to come.
