This month, we’re putting Charlotte Rowan into our fundraiser Hall of Fame for holding a fundraising bakeathon for The Christie Charity in February on her TikTok channel.
Charlotte said she wanted to fundraise for The Christie Charity after her mum was treated at The Christie hospital. Sadly, Charlotte's mum died but she wanted to do something to say thanks to The Christie for her treatment.
As the owner of a cake business, Charlotte had the idea for an all-day bakeathon. After a lifetime of loving baking, she first opened her baking business 14 years ago when she was off on maternity leave with her eldest daughter. Charlotte also worked as a primary school teacher and went full-time with her cake business in 2019.
As well as owning her cake business, Charlotte first started making baking TikTok videos around 4 years ago. She said that at first this was just for fun but she found it went really well, and she now has nearly 80,000 followers on TikTok.

Charlotte had also wanted to do a livestream on her TikTok for a while and with Valentine’s Day on the way, it seemed like great timing. She opened preorders on her TikTok ahead of the day, with fans flocking to buy school sprinkle cakes and cupcakes in advance of the bakeathon.
On 14 February 2026, Charlotte streamed her bakeathon live on TikTok from 9am to 5pm. She said the day went really well, with loads of followers getting involved. She ended up baking 6 school sprinkle cakes and 72 cupcakes in boxes of 6 and 12 over the 8 hours.
“I chose The Christie Charity as my mum was treated at the hospital. It wasn't a smooth journey, and The Christie were nothing short of incredible. Every staff member we met was supportive and kind and she received the best care. I just wanted to give something back.”
“It went really well on the day. It was strange having people essentially in my kitchen with me for 8 hours and everything took me quite a bit longer than expected as I kept stopping to chat to commenters! I was also more aware of what I was doing as people were watching and asking questions.
