Charmain Sangster, Christie patient

After working as a volunteer for The Christie for a number of years, Charmain returned to the hospital as a patient at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Charmain first came to the hospital 12 years ago when she was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, and has recently gone through more surgery and more treatment at the hospital. She is supporting the Touching Lives campaign to show how The Christie charity has helped her and other patients like her.

“The Christie is close to my heart as it has done so much for me during my life. It has played such a vital part in my recovery, and I am extremely thankful.”
“Over the next couple of years, I plan to continue volunteering for the Christie charity, I love helping at all of their outdoor events like the Walk of Hope. I am also hoping I get to visit my mum in Kingston, America.”
