Tee up

A golf day is a great activity you and your colleagues can organise to support the work of The Christie. Whatever your level of skill with a set of golf clubs, organising a golf day is a fun and easy way to raise money.

To start, you need to get a team together and check with your local golf club when they have availability. It could be a good team building exercise with your colleagues or you can get a team of friends and family together.

Once you’ve got your date and time booked, let everyone know when it is. Create an event on Facebook and invite your participants, or send everyone an email so they know when to turn up.

You can sell tickets for the golf day to raise money for The Christie or just ask for donations on the day. Anything you raise will go towards improving the treatment and care for our cancer patients and their friends and family members.

On the day itself, you can just play a few rounds of golf and keep track of your scores to see who the overall winner is. Or to make things a bit more exciting, you could set some challenges such as nearest to the pin, longest drive and who can get a hole-in-one!

If you want to make your golf day into more of an all-round event, why not organise a few extra activities? You could:

  • raffle tombola prizes
  • hold an auction
  • have a business card prize draw

If you’re holding a golf day for The Christie, remember to register your event and request a fundraising pack from us. We can send you out a free Christie t-shirt to wear on the day, with extra Christie t-shirts available for sale.

Do you want to support The Christie this year? Take on The Christie Challenge and help us keep moving for people with cancer.

If you're holding a golf day event as part of The Christie Challenge or as a separate fundraising activity, please create a JustGiving page in support of The Christie using the button below.
