The Christie Charity Festive Dash

Join Team Christie at Manchester’s favourite festive dash!

Get ready to pull on your Santa suit, reindeer antlers, or festive fancy dress and join hundreds of supporters at Heaton Park for the annual Christie Charity Festive Dash on Sunday 23 November 2025. Walk, jog, or run the 5K route – this Christmas cracker of an event promises festive fun and cheer, all while raising vital funds for The Christie.

Online registrations for the Festive Dash are now closed. If you still want to join in the wintery fun, you can sign up on the day. Head to the registration tent outside Heaton Hall between 9:30am and 10:15am to register, with the dash starting at 10:30am.

We encourage participants to aim to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship for this event.

The Christie Charity Festive Dash 2025 will raise money for our appeal to bring a life-changing Total Body PET-CT scanner to The Christie. This incredible new scanner will make a real difference to so many people facing the toughest times of their lives.

What to expect

The Festive Dash is a family-friendly 5K route (two 2.5k laps), perfect for all ages – and dogs are welcome! Dress to impress in your festive best and help us fill Heaton Park with Santas, elves, reindeer, and snowmen.

On the day, you can look forward to:

  • Live festive entertainment
  • A chance to meet Santa
  • Face painting for children (and big kids too!)
  • Festive treats at the finish line

The event village opens at 9.30am, giving you plenty of time to soak up the festive mood before the dash sets off at 10.30am. The village closes at 12pm, sending everyone home full of Christmas cheer.

Do you want to keep the fun going after your walk? Heaton Park has a range of amenities available for all the family, including 4 cafes (the Stables café, the Lakeside café, the Hidden Gem cafe at Heaton Park Garden Centre and the cafe at Heaton Park Golf Centre). What is the Festive Dash?

The Christie Festive Dash is a 5K running event being held on Sunday 23 November 2025. Money raised from the event goes to support The Christie Charity.

The route will be a 2.5K repeated loop round Heaton Park.

Where does the Festive Dash take place?

The Festive Dash takes place at Heaton Park, M25 2SW.  

Should I run or walk?

The Christie Festive Dash is not a race and is a non-competitive, non-timed event, open to all ages and abilities. Participants can walk, jog or run and bypass obstacles / elements if necessary.

What is included in the registration fee?

Your registration fee includes a free Christie T-shirt, finishers medal available on completion, and there is an optional additional charge for a Santa costume to be included.

Do I have to fundraise?

We encourage participants to aim to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship to help us continue our fight against cancer. Get in touch with a member of our events team if you would like any fundraising materials or need any advice, we are here to help!

Who can take part?

The event is suitable for all ages. We ask that children under the age of 16 be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian, who have also purchased a place in the event.

Children under the age of 3 can take part in the event free of charge.

We welcome wheelchair users, prams and pushchairs, however the route may include grass and paths which could be uneven, wet, muddy or slippery and challenging in places, therefore we advise you check your chair can accommodate this and you may wish to bring someone along to help. Please ensure that you have taken this into consideration before booking.

Will the event be timed?

No.

Will there be refreshments?

Water will be available from the main event site. Soft drinks and other refreshments will also be available to purchase from our caterer.

By bringing your own water, you will be helping to reduce the carbon footprint of our event and limit our plastic waste.

Will there be first aid?

Yes, there will be first aiders. We all ask all participants to provide emergency contact details on the back of their race number.

Where can I park?

Heaton Park has a number of parking spaces available. The closest car parks to the start line are the Hall Car Park and St Margaret's Road Car Park. Pay and Display charges will apply on the day.
