The Christie Charity Garden of Hope

This Christmas, join us as we illuminate the night and celebrate the lives of loved ones touched by cancer at The Christie Charity Garden of Hope.

The Christie Charity Garden of Hope is a beautiful immersive light installation. The installation is made up of hundreds of pre-lit white roses — each one displaying a message of love and hope dedicated to someone special.

Every dedication helps raise vital funds for The Christie Charity, supporting our lifesaving and life-changing work for people affected by cancer. Join us in creating a collective tribute of light and love that will brighten the festive season.

We will officially open The Christie Charity Garden of Hope on Saturday 6 December 2025 at 5pm, when we will switch on all of the roses.

From Sunday 7 to Sunday 21 December 2025, 3pm to 8pm daily, our light installation will be a peaceful space to pause and reflect in St John’s Gardens on Lower Byrom Street in Manchester.

The Christie Charity Garden of Hope is sponsored by Roland Dransfield.

A place to reflect

The Garden of Hope will be a peaceful sanctuary in the heart of Manchester, offering a moment of calm and reflection amidst the hustle and bustle of Christmas. Surrounded by light, visitors are invited to pause, remember, and celebrate the lives of loved ones touched by cancer.

You can pre-order your dedication at The Christie Garden of Hope below.

The illuminated roses in the Garden of Hope remain on-site throughout the event as part of the installation. They are not given out individually afterwards, as we will re-use them each year to keep the garden sustainable.

When you dedicate a rose, you’ll also receive a special rose Christmas tree decoration, sent to you as a thank you for supporting the event and making your dedication.

Due to the number of roses displayed, we can’t guarantee locating a specific dedication unless you write it yourself on-site. If you’d like to know exactly where your rose is placed, we recommend visiting and attaching your message in person.

Yes, you can pre-order your rose online. On arrival, simply bring your confirmation email and a member of our team will help you add your dedication or hand it back to attach yourself.

If you are unable to visit in person, you can still make a dedication. Let us know when your pre-order whether you’ll visit or not. If you won’t be visiting, a team member will attach your message and place your rose in the Garden of Hope on your behalf.

Please note that if you choose this option, we cannot guarantee you'll be able to locate your individual rose due to the number of dedications.

The suggested minimum donation to dedicate a rose is £20.

You can dedicate as many roses as you wish, with each dedication requiring a donation and a message. If you’d like to dedicate more than 5 roses, please contact our charity team at events@christies.org or call 0161 446 3400.

Dates: Saturday 6 to Sunday 21 December 2025.

Times: Daily, 3pm to 8pm

Location: St John’s Gardens, Lower Byrom Street, Manchester M3 4AP
