Patients can receive support through the emotional and psychological stresses of their cancer treatment in the art room at The Christie. It offers patients a sanctuary to escape, engage in creative activities, and connect with others who share similar experiences.
The new-look art and relaxation rooms boast stunning views and direct access to the beautiful Christie garden. This serene environment provides a perfect backdrop for patients who may be feeling at their most vulnerable while undergoing treatment or recovering, offering them a peaceful retreat where they can focus on their emotional wellbeing.
It cost £432,000 to refurbish the art and relaxation rooms – this was part funded by proceeds from the Primrose Ball, hosted and organised by Girls Aloud in 2022 in memory of their bandmate Sarah Harding who was treated at The Christie.

How you can still help the art and relaxation rooms
While the newly refurbished art and relaxation rooms is now offering support to cancer patients at The Christie, the art room service still needs your support, as it’s 100% funded by our fantastic supporters.
With your help, we could make further improvements to the facilities and run more classes, so more of our patients can benefit from the sense of community and support that the art room brings.
Please support the art room with a donation today and help us keep supporting cancer patients emotionally.
