Third-party sports event terms and conditions

These terms apply to third-party sports events where you choose to fundraise for The Christie Charity by:

  • purchasing your own place directly from the event organiser (“Own Place”), or
  • securing a charity place through The Christie Charity (“Charity Place”).

Terms 1 to 8 apply only to Charity Place participants. Terms 9 to 14 apply to all participants.

By registering for an event, you agree to comply with the following terms:

  1. This event is organised by a third-party event organiser. The Christie Charity is not responsible for the delivery or management of the event. We will share the necessary details from your registration with the organiser to help plan and run the event safely. The organiser may request additional information, including medical details, directly from you. For details on how your data is used, please see our privacy policy and the organiser’s own policy.
  2. The Christie Charity has a limited number of places for each event. We cannot guarantee your application will be successful and reserve the right to refuse entries at our discretion.
  3. Some events require you to complete an additional registration directly with the organiser to confirm your place. It is your responsibility to complete this by the stated deadline. Failure to do so may result in your place being withdrawn. We will notify you if this applies and provide the relevant details.
  4. A non-refundable registration fee is payable during registration to secure your place. This does not count towards your fundraising target.
  5. You agree to raise at least the minimum sponsorship amount stated on the event webpage and registration form (excluding Gift Aid). This is in addition to your registration fee and must be paid to The Christie Charity within four weeks of the event.
  6. Registration fees are non-refundable. If you are unable to take part (for example, due to injury), you may be able to transfer your place. Please contact us to discuss options.
  7. The event organiser may change, postpone, or cancel the event due to circumstances beyond their control. If this happens, they will contact you directly. Where possible, we will offer you the option to transfer to another event. If you do not wish to transfer, you may request a refund of your registration fee.
  8. You must meet the organiser’s minimum age requirement on the day of the event. Please refer to the organiser’s policy for details.

All participants

  1. The Christie Charity is not responsible for organising or managing the event and is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or expense arising from your participation.
  2. You confirm that, to the best of your knowledge, you are in good health and understand you are taking part at your own risk.
  3. You are legally responsible for ensuring all sponsorship and donations in relation to the event are paid to the charity as soon as possible, and no later than four weeks after the event. Payment details are available on our website.
  4. If the event is cancelled or you choose not to take part, you are responsible for informing your sponsors and confirming whether they are happy for their donations to still be given to The Christie Charity. Sponsorship forms and funds should either be sent to us or returned to sponsors, according to their wishes.
  5. The Christie Charity and authorised photographers may film or photograph participants at the event. These images may be used for promotional or fundraising purposes, including advertising, marketing materials, publications, and online content. By taking part, you consent to this use. If you prefer not to appear in such materials, please contact us before the event using the details on our website.
  6. By registering for this event, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms and conditions. The Christie Charity may amend these terms at any time, and the latest version will be available on the event registration page. Please check before your event for updates. If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
