Eileen and Kenneth Lees were dedicated and committed supporters of The Christie Charity for decades. They both generously included a gift in their Wills to The Christie Charity.
One of their 4 children, Janet, acted as one their executors and fulfilled their kind wishes to help cancer patients after they died. Janet shares how her parents’ legacy reflects how loving and caring they were, within their family and in their local community.
“Mum and Dad were married for nearly 65 years. They had a very happy marriage, and a large and supportive family.
“Both Mum and Dad led long and very fulfilled lives and were involved in lots of community activities – The Christie Charity was one of the charities that they always supported. Mum was active for many years in fundraising for The Christie Charity. She helped organise many events and fundraising activities.
“She helped with an incredible range of fundraising activities as part of a fundraising group for The Christie Charity who organised their own fundraisers, such as sponsored runs, cricket club fun days, restaurant banquets, fashion shows and ladies’ lunches. My Mum also took part in The Christie Charity’s events, including The Christie Garden Party, Cuppa for The Christie, and annual Christie Christmas Concerts.
