Jane was brought up in Croydon, South London and qualified as a GP in 1998. She worked as a GP in Cheshire for 10 years and has since become involved in her family foundation, The Oglesby Charitable Trust, where she is Interim Chair of Trustees.

She is passionate about tackling health inequalities and is a Director of both Focused Care and the Shared Health Foundation. A mother of three, Jane is also a supporter of environmentally sustainable UK farming methods, with a wildlife conservation focus.

Jane is the daughter-in-law of The Oglesby Trust’s founders, the late Michael Oglesby and his wife Jean.

Mike was incredibly supportive of The Christie, with a very keen interest in supporting cancer research. He chaired a fundraising appeal to build the new research building of the Manchester Cancer Research Centre (a research partnership with The Christie, The University of Manchester and Cancer Research UK). This building was subsequently named ‘The Oglesby Cancer Research Building’ in recognition of Mike’s tireless support of cancer research in Manchester.
