Placement opportunities across specialist environments

We offer diverse learning experiences across many areas of the hospital, including: 

• Surgery and critical care 
• Medical admissions and ward-based care 
• Palliative and end-of-life care 
• Chemotherapy and systemic therapy delivery 
• Radiotherapy services 
• Radiology (limited placement capacity) 
• Complementary and integrative therapies (limited capacity) 

Where possible, we also welcome elective placements from UK university learners — though availability may be impacted by existing commitments. 

Learners benefit from our hub and spoke model, allowing them to spend time in other departments to observe the full patient journey and develop strong interprofessional understanding. 

Learning through real experiences 

During your placement, you’ll work alongside trained assessors and supervisors across a 24/7 rota, helping you develop the skills, behaviours and proficiencies required for professional practice. 

We also encourage all learners to attend relevant education events  hosted by The Christie Institute for Cancer Education, further broadening your understanding of cancer care and creating opportunities to learn from experts across the Trust.

• Practice Education Leads in each learning environment 
• Our central Practice Education Team 
• University Link Lecturers (ULLs) who work closely with us to ensure you feel confident, safe and supported
