Celebrating a Presidential Award

We’re proud to celebrate Laura McNab, who has been awarded the UKONS (UK Oncology Nursing Society) Presidents Award at the 20th Anniversary UK Oncology Nursing Society Conference in Birmingham.

This national award is voted on by the UKONS Board and recognises individuals who have made an outstanding contribution and significant impact within oncology nursing. It was presented by UKONS President Dr Karen Campbell.

Laura received the award ‘in recognition of outstanding dedication and inspiring leadership in Systemic Anticancer Therapy (SACT) Education’.

Three years ago, Laura created the SACT Education Network, identifying a need for national collaboration, peer support and consistency in SACT education. Since its creation, the network has delivered 38 online meetings with more than 2,400 attendees from 135 NHS Trusts and contributed to national education resources such as the UKONS SACT Digital Passport.

We are delighted to see this impact recognised and are proud to have supported this work.

“It was a wonderful surprise to be recognised for this achievement.”
