What to expect
Supporting someone at the end of life requires exceptional sensitivity, clinical awareness and emotional intelligence. This two-day, in-person course offers a thoughtful, grounded and compassionate exploration of therapeutic and practical approaches that can make a real difference to people in their final weeks and days.
Led by experienced practitioners Ann Carter, Dr Peter Mackereth and Paula Maycock, the course blends theory, hands-on practice and reflective learning. You’ll deepen your understanding of complex end-of-life symptoms — from breathlessness and agitation to spiritual distress — and learn practical strategies for providing comfort, connection and personalised care.
Through guided demonstrations, case examples and safe, supportive discussion, you’ll build confidence in working with patients, families and carers during some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives.
Delegates will also complete directed tasks and reflective feedback (approx. 4.5 hours) to consolidate their learning.
