Book on the Immunotherapy Checkpoint Inhibitors in Oncology Study Day on 24 November and the Bispecific Antibodies in Oncology Study Day on 8 December and receive a 10% discount from the booking price.
What to expect
Immune checkpoint inhibitors have transformed cancer treatment across an ever-expanding range of tumour types. As the use of PD-1, PD-L1 and CTLA-4 inhibitors becomes embedded in routine oncology practice, healthcare professionals need the knowledge to understand how these agents work, who they are used for, and how to recognise and manage their distinct toxicity profiles safely and effectively.
This study day provides a practical and clinically focused update on immune checkpoint inhibitors in oncology, supporting clinicians across all disciplines to deliver timely, effective and personalised care for patients receiving immunotherapy.
Delegates will explore the mechanisms of action of immune checkpoint inhibitors, tumour-specific applications, toxicity management and patient safety considerations through evidence-based teaching and multidisciplinary discussion.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this study day, delegates will be able to:
- Describe the mechanism of action of immune checkpoint inhibitors, including PD-1, PD-L1 and CTLA-4 inhibitors, and their role in modern oncology practice
- Identify tumour types where ICIs are currently used and explain the rationale for their application across disease settings
- Recognise the presentation and grading of early immune-related adverse events (irAEs) and initiate appropriate management
- Identify late and long-term irAEs and understand their impact on patient wellbeing beyond treatment
- Apply evidence-based approaches to managing complex and rare immune-related toxicities
- Evaluate the benefits and challenges of combination ICI therapy and implications for patient monitoring
- Demonstrate confidence in nursing care and patient safety practices specific to immunotherapy treatment pathways
Why choose this programme
This study day offers an up-to-date and clinically relevant overview of immune checkpoint inhibitors, combining current evidence, practical toxicity management and multidisciplinary perspectives to support safer and more effective patient care.
Who is it for?
Healthcare professionals involved in treating patients receiving immunotherapy; academics involved in cancer research; and anyone with an interest in immunotherapy and oncology care.
