What to expect
Oncology treatment options have expanded exponentially, with complex multi-drug regimens, immunotherapies and advanced targeted therapies now central to cancer care. Managing the toxicities and complications that arise from these treatments presents an increasing challenge for clinical staff across all settings.
This one-day hybrid study day offers a focused, up-to-date exploration of how to assess and manage the acutely unwell oncology patient, with expert-led sessions covering therapy toxicities, complications of advanced cancer and emergency presentations.
Whether you join us onsite at The Christie or virtually, you will develop practical knowledge and confidence to support oncology patients through some of their most complex clinical challenges.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this study day, you should be able to:
- Describe the initial assessment approach for the acutely unwell oncology patient
- Recognise and manage immunotherapy toxicities and complex SACT toxicity
- Understand prognosis for metastatic cancer patients in the modern oncology era
- Identify and respond to emergency endocrine presentations
- Apply learning to real-world clinical scenarios through case-based discussion
