Overview
Advanced practice extends well beyond clinical care. This study day focuses on the three pillars of advanced practice outside the clinic: influence, innovation and impact, with system leadership in cancer care as the common thread.
The programme covers national direction, regulation and credentialing, AI in clinical practice, health inequalities and the move to consultant-level practice. Later sessions look at demonstrating impact and return on investment, and at supervision, wellbeing and retention.
You can attend onsite at The Christie in Manchester or join virtually. The day is designed for both trainee and qualified Advanced Practitioners.

What to expect
Advanced Practitioners are increasingly asked to shape services, demonstrate value and lead across systems, as well as deliver excellent clinical care. This study day looks at what that means for practice in England in 2027, from regulation and credentialing to professional identity, scope and accountability.
Sessions explore the governance of AI in clinical practice, the role of APs in tackling health inequalities, and the path to consultant-level practice. You will also hear how to measure and communicate the impact of AP roles, how research fits into everyday work, and how neighbourhood cancer care and virtual oncology services are developing.
The day closes with a focus on the workforce itself, covering the case for return on investment, supervision, wellbeing and retention. Whether you join onsite or online, you will leave with practical ideas to take back to your team and your service.
