The Christie Care Certificate

The National Care Certificate is a programme of training for clinical Healthcare Support Workers (HCSW) incorporating the knowledge, skills and behaviours to ensure the individual provides safe, compassionate and high quality care and support for patients.

The Christie Care Certificate meets all the national standards, but adds to them to ensure Christie patients receive the very best care.

The Christie Care Certificate includes all of the following:

  • The Christie Care Certificate training sessions
  • Identification (and preparation) of a Mentoring Assessor for each HCSW
  • A portfolio of evidence to demonstrate how each individual meets the required competencies for their role
  • Assessment in clinical practice of the certificate standards by a Mentoring Assessor
  • Each individual has up to 12 weeks to complete the certificate
