April 2019

Freehold Community Primary Academy and Davyhulme Primary School

This month’s Fundraisers of the month are the fantastic schools, Freehold Community Primary Academy and Davyhulme Primary School. Both schools have taken part in our Christie Bear Spelling Challenge.

Freehold Community Primary Academy raised a brilliant total of £1,302.25.

The head teacher, Mrs Angela Leach, said "The school have never raised this much money for a charity before and the pupils were very committed in learning their spellings and fundraising."

Sadly a member of staff who worked at the school died in 2018, she was treated at The Christie and the school felt very strongly about raising funds to support a great cause.

Davyhulme Primary School also raised a staggering £4,343.05. The school wanted to support The Christie as many parents have been treated at the hospital and they wanted to give something back.

All funds raised went to the Teenage and Young Adult outdoor pursuits’ fund.  We want to say a huge thank you to all the pupils involved  for supporting The Christie and our famous Christie Bear loved meeting you all!
