Manchester Muslim Preparatory School, Christie fundraisers
November 2019
This month, we would like to say a big thank you to our friends at Manchester Muslim Preparatory School for taking part in our Christie Bear spelling challenge and for holding a Cuppa for The Christie.
With over 70 pupils taking part in the spelling challenge, the school managed to raise over a wonderful £1,530 from sponsorship from their family and friends. Parents were also invited to attend a Cuppa for The Christie event which raised almost £340.
This brought the total amount to more than an amazing £1,870!
Manchester Muslim Preparatory School said: “The service provided by our neighbours The Christie has always been very close to our hearts. The care, support and work they do has an impact on all communities regardless of their background.
"We welcome the opportunity to contribute to such a fantastic project through our modest donations. Our fundraising projects reflect our gratitude for the work they do. Our Prophet Muhammad said 'The one who does not thank people, does not thank God'. Thank you to everyone at The Christie.”
The school have kindly chosen to support our Teenage and Young Adult Unit Activity Fund. This fund helps to support leisure and social activities, music therapy and art therapy for the patients on this unit.
These activities are a source of enjoyment for our younger patients and they also encourage important friendships. This can provide invaluable support for them at an incredibly difficult time in their lives.
