Sam Whelan, Christie fundraiser

This March, Sam Whelan will be conquering The Christie zip slide challenge. Sam’s taking on the thrilling challenge in memory of her dad who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Sam said: “My dad was diagnosed with myeloma in January. Unfortunately due to the aggressiveness of my dad’s myeloma, it couldn’t be treated and he passed away 5 weeks following diagnosis.

“I decided during his illness that I wanted to do something for him and now in his memory.

“I am doing some runs throughout the year in support of The Christie, but I wanted to push my limits a little further with this as life is short and we need to make the most of it every day as you never know when your time will be up.

“Cancer is a terrible disease and takes far too many people, but together we can help to continue the fight against it. This is why I support The Christie.”

We would like to say a huge thank you to Sam for her support. Fundraisers like Sam make a huge difference to the care and treatment that The Christie is able to provide to our patients and their families.

If you’d like to join Sam at the zip slide in March 2020, you can register for the zip slide challenge now.
