Do Your Thing, Christie fundraisers

Do Your Thing are a community choir from Stockport and Stalybridge. They’ve been fundraising for The Christie charity for 7 years through a number of different events and activities. Their fundraising has included knitting Christmas baubles for the charity centre, singing at Piccadilly with Christie Bear and taking part in The Christie variety show.

At Christmas, Do Your Thing usually entertain Christie patients and visitors with classic Christmas hits in the reception area of the hospital. But sadly, this wasn’t possible for 2020, with COVID-19 restrictions in place.

Instead, Do Your Thing are delighted to take part in the online Christmas with The Christie event. On 16 December, they’ll be one of a host of performers appearing on the free online concert.

With their children’s choir, Do Your Thing Rainbow Choir, they’ve put together a cover of the song ‘Where Are You Christmas’ from the musical ‘The Grinch who stole Christmas’. Do Your Thing are hoping that their video will help bring some light into this unusual Christmas and spread a little festive joy.

“Do Your Thing has always been proud to support The Christie by doing many fundraising performances over the years. We have strong connections with The Christie as some of our members or their families have been patients, and some of our choir members work there.
“We know the vitally important work that they do and how challenging these times are and we wanted to do our bit.
“We really hope that you enjoy it and that together we can spread some magic and joy at a time when our world desperately needs some and importantly raise a lot of money for a charity close to our hearts.”
