Irwin Mitchell, Christie corporate partner
In 2019, The Christie charity was nominated as Irwin Mitchell’s Charity of the Year, with the Manchester office raising an incredible total of £65,400 for the art room at The Christie.
The art room is a charity-funded service for cancer patients to join art sessions and experience a social and therapeutic environment. It offers an escape from the clinical areas of the hospital and eases the stress and anxiety of treatment.
The team at Irwin Mitchell have dedicated their time and support for The Christie charity throughout the year, from dress down days to bake sales and raffle prize draws in the office. They also participated in sporting events such as the Beetham Tower Run, the Great Manchester Run 10k and Manchester Half Marathon.
A major success in their fundraising calendar was the Irwin Mitchell Brushstroke Ball, held on 21 November at The Lowry Hotel. The ball raised over £20,000 for The Christie art room.
Irwin Mitchell also held a live auction at the ball for a piece of artwork produced by a group of Christie patients, raising an incredible £6,000. This painting now hangs proudly in the reception of the Manchester office, and the Christie patients were invited to see the grand unveiling of their work.

“We are absolutely delighted to be able to provide such a huge donation to such a fantastic cause. It’s good to know the money we raised will go towards supportive services like the art room and helping patients with cancer.
“We are all very proud to be able to say we did it for The Christie!”
- Ros Bever, regional managing partner at Irwin Mitchell’s Manchester office
All funds raised by Irwin Mitchell will be directed to the art room and our new appeal to expand the current facilities, create a relaxation area and further improve the wellbeing of our patients.
We would like to take the opportunity to say a huge thank you to all the staff at Irwin Mitchell for their outstanding support.
