The Christie charity got the opportunity to make some patients’ Christmases by delivering some festive goody bags, thanks to a grant from NHS Charities Together.

NHS Charities Together awarded us the £2,000 Amazon grant to buy some Christmas presents for our patients.

Our charity staff delivered goody bags to patients before Christmas, along with a drink and cake to enjoy on their ward. Some of the wards we visited included Palatine ward, ward 4, ward 12 and the surgery oncology wards.

In total, charity staff handed out 139 festive goody bags.

The Christie goody bags contained some useful luxury items including totes socks, L'Oréal hand and face creams, Christie Christmas pin badges and a Christie note pad and pen.

One of our patients Emma was a recipient of one of the festive goody bags. She says that she will be in for another few weeks at least, so the gifts were a happy addition to her treat drawer, whilst she was in hospital over Christmas.
