World famous celebrity photographer Harry Goodwin has left thousands of photographs and his camera equipment to leading cancer centre The Christie in his will.

Harry Goodwin, who died aged 89, was resident photographer at the BBC's Top of the Pops from its launch in 1964 and into the 70s, and was renowned for his images of pop stars and sports personalities. He bequeathed all his photos to The Christie in his will to be auctioned to raise money for the cancer hospital.

To celebrate this, The Christie will be holding a preview press launch and VIP reception on Thursday (15th) at 6.30pm at ARTZU Gallery in Manchester city centre.

Photos available to view on the evening will include Sir Matt Busby, George Best, David Beckham, Sir Alex Ferguson, Eric Cantona, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, Bee Gees, Gary and Phil Neville, George Harrison, John Lennon and Gary Lineker, plus many more.
