Jackson-Stops estate agents in Alderley Edge is supporting The Christie at Macclesfield appeal.
The new Christie cancer centre, which will deliver Christie care closer to home for people in Macclesfield and the surrounding area, was a popular choice for clients and staff of Jackson-Stops, based on London Road.
As part of the company’s commitment to its local communities, it has decided to donate 3% of fees from all new instructions taken throughout December, January and February to the appeal. And staff hope in particular, the usual new year property boom when there is a traditional peak in homes hitting the market, will see a huge amount raised for The Christie.
Crispin Harris, director of Jackson-Stops, said: “We have chosen to support The Christie at Macclesfield next year as it is a cause very close to everyone’s heart. Some of us have experienced the pain that cancer brings, not just to the individual, but also to their family and friends. My mum was treated for breast cancer, so it is particularly personal to me too.
“Having a cancer centre nearer home will be very beneficial to the area and we are looking forward to raising as much money as we can with the support of our clients.”
Jackson-Stops is the latest in a number of local businesses who have chosen to support the Macclesfield appeal. Farah Wigmore-Sykes, major relationships manager at The Christie charity, said: “We’re very grateful to the team at Jackson-Stops for backing The Christie. Selling a home is a major life decision, and I’m sure its clients will be pleased to hear that their home sale is also benefitting cancer patients in the area.”

The Christie charity supports the work of The Christie NHS Foundation Trust providing enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. This includes money for care and treatment, research, education and extra patient services. Gifts from the public make a huge difference to the care and treatment that The Christie is able to provide to our patients and their families.
The Christie NHS Foundation Trust was the first specialist trust to be rated as ‘Outstanding’ twice (in 2016 and 2018) by the health regulator the Care Quality Commission (CQC). It referred to The Christie as ‘a leader in cancer care’ and ‘a pioneer in developing innovative solutions to cancer care.’ The CQC praised the Trust’s staff which it said ‘go the extra mile to meet the needs of patients and their families’ and that they were ‘exceptionally kind and caring.’ In 2017, the CQC rated The Christie as the best specialist trust in the country, and one of the top three trusts overall in England.
