How to be involved in a clinical trial

If you are interested in finding out more about a clinical trial, you can call a member of our research team. In order to be seen at the Christie, you will need a referral.

If you live in England and are being treated by the NHS, you can be referred to us by your specialist doctor or GP.

Please note that patients from Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland may require additional local approval before we can offer an opinion and treatment.

We can accept a referral from your current specialist. We can also accept a referral from your GP as long as the letter requests 'a second opinion.'

We will require brief details of your previous treatment and it is helpful to include any scans and test reports with the letter.

The referral can be sent via fax to the haematology secretaries, or posted to:

The Haematology and Transplant Unit Department 26, 1st Floor
The Christie
550 Wilmslow Road
Manchester
M20 4BX

Please ensure that it is addressed for the attention of the relevant consultant (the referring GP or specialist should know who this is).
