What complementary therapy do

Diagnosis and subsequent treatment can bring on many emotions and symptoms including stress, mild to moderate depression, fear, worry and anxiety induced nausea. As an integrated part of the rehabilitation unit we offer a range of therapies, all free of charge, which help to alleviate these emotions and symptoms. Every year we treat more and more patients and their carers, as the value of what we do becomes more widely known.

The therapies we provide to patients and carers include massage, aromatherapy, acupuncture/acupressure, reflexology, therapeutic touch, hypnotherapy, creative visualisation, smoking cessation and alcohol advice. The service is provided by 30 therapists working in a part-time self-employed basis covering Monday to Friday and working throughout the hospital.
