Pseudomyxoma Survivor Donation

We would like to thank the charity Pseudomyxoma Survivor for their generous donation of £10,000 towards The Christie Colorectal & Peritoneal Oncology Centre Prehabilitation program that uses pervasive wearable technologies to get patients ‘fit for surgery’ before undergoing cytoreductive surgery with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS/HIPEC). This is the first program of its kind in the world and aimed at improving recovery from surgery as well as long-term outcomes for our patients. We hope that we will be able to demonstrate the benefits of this area of research and disseminate them to other units so that patients across the world may benefit.
