The Christie at Wigan

The Christie at Wigan Chemotherapy treatment centre opened in January 2015 with the intention of providing Chemotherapy and other systemic anti - cancer treatments for patients living in the Wigan area.

The treatment centre was funded by a joint project between Wigan, The Christie and Macmillan to provide 13 treatment spaces and some outpatient clinics for specific disease groups, administering up to 4,000 treatments a year. The Christie hold consultant led SACT clinics at the Cancer Centre at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary and treatment is delivered by chemotherapy nurses employed by Royal Bolton Hospital.
