Mobile Chemotherapy Unit

The mobile chemotherapy unit is a purpose built unit specifically designed to allow the chemotherapy team to administer cancer treatments in 5 different locations throughout the week.

Built in 2013, the unit, managed by The Christie Outreach team, visits Rochdale, Trafford, Hyde, Chadderton and Bolton on the same day each week. A team of Christie chemotherapy nurses travel to each site to administer selected treatments closer to patients homes.

BBC Radio Manchester interviews

To celebrate five years since the opening of the mobile chemotherapy unit, BBC Radio Manchester ran a feature to commemorate the special occasion. BBC Radio Manchester, whose listeners were instrumental in fundraising for the opening of the unit, spent the week interviewing patients and staff members to find out how the unit has improved patient outcomes.

You can listen to all of the interviews below - audio courtesy of BBC Radio Manchester.
